Zanzibar Gala Night Crowns Rixos Egypt With Seven Travel Trophies

HURGHADA, Egypt. Under the warm island air of Zanzibar, where palm shadows met the glow of the ballroom chandeliers, one name was called back to the stage again and again on the evening of 28 August 2026. By the time the applause had settled at the World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony 2026 in Tanzania, Rixos Hotels Egypt had gathered seven trophies, more than enough to make its table the busiest in the room.

The tally spread neatly across the brand’s Egyptian map, with winners drawn from its resorts in Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Alexandria. Guests and industry figures watched as the honours recognised properties operated by Rixos Hotels Egypt, a portfolio that stretches from Red Sea beachfronts to the historic Mediterranean coastline.

A Clean Sweep Across The Egyptian Coast

Each announcement pulled a fresh cheer from the delegation, and the categories read like a tour of the country’s leisure landscape, from water parks and family escapes to heritage addresses and private villas. The seven titles collected on the night were:

  • Africa’s Leading Water Park 2026, Aqua Park, Rixos Premium Seagate, Egypt
  • Egypt’s Leading All-Inclusive Resort 2026, Rixos Sharm El Sheikh Adults Only 18+
  • Egypt’s Leading Beach Resort 2026, Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas
  • Egypt’s Leading Family Resort 2026, Rixos Premium Seagate
  • Egypt’s Leading Heritage Hotel 2026, Rixos Montaza Alexandria
  • Egypt’s Leading Luxury Hotel Villa 2026, Premium Villa @ Club Prive by Rixos Sharm El Sheikh
  • Egypt’s Leading Resort 2026, Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas

A Word From The Stage

Accepting the run of accolades on behalf of the teams back home, Mr. Erkan Yildirim, Managing Director of Rixos Hotels Egypt, addressed the gathered guests with evident pride:

“We are extremely proud to receive seven World Travel Awards. This recognition reflects the dedication of our teams and our continued commitment to delivering exceptional and memorable guest experiences. We sincerely thank our guests and partners for their trust and support.”

The double recognition for Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas, named both a leading beach resort and a leading resort, drew a particular ripple of approval, while the heritage nod to Rixos Montaza Alexandria placed the brand’s cultural credentials alongside its sun-and-sand appeal.

As the ceremony closed and the island night carried on outside, the seven wins stood as a marker of Egypt’s growing standing on the continental stage. Full results from the evening are published by the World Travel Awards, which convened the region’s hospitality names in Zanzibar to celebrate the year’s most decorated destinations.
