How Can You Steer Your Life In an Environment-Friendly Way?

The way we choose to live our life makes a substantial impact on the environment. We all know that the current situation of the earth is not so good and it is getting worse day by day. But, if we choose to steer our life in an environment-friendly way, then we can revamp the environment. We are sharing little and effortless steps that one can take to do his/her bot for a better environment.

  • Start using plantable pencils and plantable pens for your writing works. Give your children’s plantable pencils and teach them how to plant the pencil after its full use. You may find it a little more expensive than usual pencils and pens, but they are good for the environment and will give your children a healthy future.
  • You can also keep yourself environmentally friendly with your gifting gesture. Instead of normal greeting cards, try to tickle the dear one’s heart with plantable greeting cards. Such cards are made with recycled paper waste, and seeds are incorporated in the greeting card. Make the receiver smile with your emotions and give him a chance to add his contribution to a better environment.
  • On festive occasions such as Raksha Bandhan, Diwali, and Holi, try to stay organic to the level you can. You can pick a bangle Lumba rakhi made with real flowers instead of other materials. Promise yourself that you won’t use firecrackers on Diwali from now on. And make sure to buy and use only organic colours at the Holi festival. Whatever you do, it will impact your children, and they will also learn a good thing.
  • Polythene is indeed a big problem for the environment, and there are thousands of articles about its worst effect on our mother nature. So, instead of using polythene for shopping or carrying things, start using biodegradable carry bags. Do not wait for anyone else to start a good trend. Like Mahatma Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.”
  • We all love to celebrate occasions with our dear ones, and it should never change. But this year, as we all know, it is not safe to meet and greet, and until we all get the two doses of vaccines, you can save the environment a bit by opting for services such as rakhi online delivery. This way, you won’t add to the air pollution.
  • Try to reduce your use of single-use plastic as much as you can. It includes items like plastic glass used at events and plastic water bottles and plastic straws.
  • Put a few of your efforts into saving water as much as you can. Keep taps off while brushing teeth and washing hands. Look for the leakages in your home and get them fixed. If possible, get a rainwater harvesting system installed in your backyard.
  • If you are thinking about getting a new two-wheeler vehicle, then you can opt for electric bikes and scooters.
  • Do not throw wrappers and other waste materials here and there until you find a dustbin.
  • If your budget allows you, get a solar system installed on your home’s roof and run your appliances on an environment-friendly energy source.
  • Avoid vehicles that run on petroleum products whenever and wherever possible. You can use bicycles instead.
  • Leaving your electricals on standby needlessly uses up energy – hit the off switch, and you could see huge improvements, most noticeably in your energy bills!
  • Stop wasting food! Food wastage adds to the amount of CO2 being created in landfills. Stopping food wastage will also save you money.
  • Try to repair and fix things instead of throwing them away and getting new ones. It will reduce the number of waste products and will also save a lot of money.
